A Surprise Picnic Engagement at La Jolla Beach

Justin surprised his girlfriend Erica with a gorgeous picnic in La Jolla, but it wasn’t just a picnic that was the surprise. The picnic company he used was Omi Picnics, my favorite San Diego picnic company. He added on a photography session to the picnic and coordinated with Jenni Summer Studios ahead of time to make sure the photographer was hidden until the proposal. Justin made a book for Erica called “I Wrote a Book About Us” which he read to her and it transitioned into the ultimate proposal, as he got on his knee and popped the questions. Erica was overjoyed and the beach broke out in applause. Of course, she said, “Yes!”

The Photographer’s Hiding Spot

In order to make the proposal a surprise, Justin requested that the photographer would be hidden until he popped the question. I found a great hiding spot under a lifeguard stand and used my super-zoom lens to get those up-close shots!
